What is Lightfoot?
Lightfoot is connected car technology that may help you improve your driving behaviour in real time. The Lightfoot device sits on the vehicle’s dashboard and connects to the car’s on-board computer. It displays lights–from green to orange to red–and/or issues voice commands to let you know when you’re driving efficiently or to warn you of poor behaviour, such as accelerating or braking harshly.
How does Lightfoot benefit me?
A Lightfoot device will make your driving safer, smoother, and more environmentally sustainable. It’s proven to reduce accidents and to improve vehicle wear and tear. It’ll help make you a safer, more efficient driver, which will save you money on fuel and reduce your carbon emissions.
If you are involved in an accident, Lightfoot allows Turo to locate you to provide assistance. You can read more about the benefits of driving with Lightfoot.
What information does Lightfoot collect?
The Lightfoot device collects driving data. That includes vehicle location, mileage, vehicle faults, driving behaviour, speeding, and time driven. This information will be shared with Turo. Your host will not have access to live location and speeding data during your trip. A Lightfoot device is not covered under any guest protection plan.
If you’d like to have Lightfoot switched off ahead of your trip or want to cancel your booking, contact customer support.
