This article only applies to trips booked with Turo’s protection in the UK.
Sometimes breakdowns, accidents, or vandalism occurs, but Turo will work with our roadside claims partner, The AA, to make sure you can continue your adventure. If a roadside emergency -- such as a tire puncture, need for fuel assistance, key issues (stolen, lost, or locked in the vehicle), breakdown, or accident -- takes place during your trip, Turo will provide roadside and transportation assistance through AA Breakdown Services.
If a breakdown occurs during your Turo trip, report the incident at support.turo.com as soon as possible. If immediate roadside is required, contact +44 (0)330 018 3500. If there is an accident or vandalism occurs during a Turo trip, report the damage as soon as possible (definitely within 24 hours from the incident) by using our resolution center.
1. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE / REPAIR ON SPOT
If a journey cannot be continued in the vehicle following a breakdown/accident, the TURO Assistance shall – wherever possible – restore vehicle operability at the event location and bears the resulting costs. The costs for refueling the vehicle shall be paid by the driver.
2. TOWING AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE / REPAIR ON SPOT
Should the roadside assistance/repair on spot prove unsuccessful, the vehicle, along with any luggage and cargo, will be towed to the guest’s preferred repair workshop within 15 miles. If there is no repair workshop within 15 miles, the vehicle will be towed to the closest repair workshop. The towing costs are covered by the TURO Assistance.
3. RECOVERY FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT
The TURO Assistance shall arrange for the vehicle to be recovered if it leaves the road as a result of an accident. This applies to both the vehicle itself and to luggage. The TURO Assistance bears the costs up to a maximum of £100.
For trips that begin in the United Kingdom, Turo’s Mobility Protection Service Center is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in:
- Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
- Any other member country of the European Union

and during transit by any means between these countries (including the process of loading and unloading).
This coverage does not apply if you (the guest) violate Turo’s Terms of Service, allow an unauthorized driver to use the vehicle, or intentionally cause damage or misuse the vehicle. In addition, Mobility Protection does not provide protection if the damage is due to civil commotions, civil unrest, acts of war, earthquakes, nuclear energy or attacks, or weather-related incidents (flood, storms, etc). Fuel, insurance, or road charges/tolls are not covered by Mobility Protection.
