How do I take measurement photos for my damage claim?
When you report damage, we’ll use your vehicle photos to understand the extent of the damage. Because we won’t be viewing the damage in person, we need your photos to be clear and well lit with the full extent of the damage at the focal point. Stand a few steps back from the vehicle and take one photo. Then take another photo up close to provide context. In the closer image, verify the size of the damage by including in the photo a ruler or measuring tape. Alternatively, you can upload a photo taken with the Measure app on an Apple device. Make sure the inches or centimeters are visible and lined up next to the entirety of the damage.
Good photos are critical to resolving your claim as quickly as possible. If we can’t clearly see the damage and/or verify its size, we may need to ask for new photos, which could delay your claim resolution. See the examples of good and bad damage photos below.
