The only way to contact a host prior to booking a trip is to request to rent their car by clicking the “Rent this car” button. This also lets you see the full amount of your potential trip up front.
By requesting to rent someone’s car, you’re committing to the trip if they accept your request. You’ll input your dates and potential delivery options, select insurance, and agree to the trip cost. Currently, we don’t have an option to contact hosts without making a committed request.
We know you might not always be 100% certain about your trip dates. But if you’ve got your eye on your dream car, go ahead and enter in tentative dates, request the vehicle, and include in your request message that you’re flexible with your dates and have some questions before you book.
If the host approves the trip, you will be charged for the rental, so if you're just asking questions, ask them not to approve the request until you've discussed further details.
You can always cancel your trip request after sending it. If the owner approves your request, you can cancel within one hour of approval and receive a complete refund. The host only has eight hours to respond to trip requests, so if you don’t hear back promptly, you can request a different vehicle instead.
