Electric vehicles (EVs) are more than welcome in the Turo marketplace. EVs provide guests with an eco-friendly alternative to driving a gas-powered vehicle.
For successful trips with your electric vehicle, plan to do the following:
First, clearly and explicitly note in your listing that your vehicle is electric. Sometimes people choose an electric vehicle without realizing that they’ve done so. To avoid this confusion and decrease the chances that a trip will be canceled, include the information in the written description of your car. Also, choose “Electric Vehicle” from the drop-down menu of vehicle features when you create the listing for your vehicle.
Once a guest books your vehicle, message them to let them know the duration of your vehicle’s charge.
Provide your guest with tips and insights about how to recharge your vehicle. Let them know how and where they can find charging stations and provide them with instructions about how to charge the car. You might also consider offering prepaid recharging to your guest as an Extra so they don’t have to worry about charging the car before returning it. This may give you both peace of mind about the recharging process.
Your electric vehicle must have at least an 80% charge before you hand it off to the guest.
