If you need a car while yours is being repaired, is non-operational, or has not been returned following a trip, we will provide hosts who select the “Premium” or “Standard” protection packages up to $30 per day for transportation needs. This coverage is capped at a total of $300 except in the case of a missing vehicle, when we will cover no more than 30 days. Please see the specific guidelines below for that situation.
The following options are available when utilizing this coverage:
- Replacement vehicle through Turo
- Ridesharing (Uber, Lyft, taxi)
- Public transport (bus, train)
- Rental vehicle from a rental agency (e.g Hertz, Avis)
For all of the options above, you will need to provide detailed receipts and invoices of the amounts paid per day for the option that you select. Your agent will review your documentation and will provide reimbursement accordingly. Turo will reimburse you for a maximum of $30 per day. (For example, if you have 3 days of expenses - $25, $31 and $0 - we will reimburse you $25 for the first day, $30 for the next day and $0 for the following day, bringing the total to $55 in reimbursement.)
*Please note, vehicles “rented” or borrowed from or trips provided by family, friends, or other known acquaintances are not eligible for coverage. We also do not provide payments for this coverage if the options outlined above are not utilized.

If you have selected Turo’s Standard plan, we can provide you with up to €40 per day for your transportation needs, for up to 10 days (capping at €400) in Turo travel credit* through the Turo platform. This credit will expire if not used within 30 days of the date it was issued.
