Your trip can start and end at any time you and your host agree on; however, the smallest unit we’ll charge is a day. A Turo trip day is 26 hours long. We’ll charge guests for a single day for a trip that lasts up to 26 hours. After 26 hours, we’ll charge for another day.
Trips booked in Canada are priced in CA$. Trips booked in Germany and all countries in the eurozone are priced in euros (€). Trips booked in the United Kingdom are priced in pounds (£). Trips booked in the United States and everywhere else that Turo is available are priced in US$.
Why do some days have different prices than others?
Hosts have several ways to set prices:
- They can set a standard daily rate for their car.
- They can use Turo’s Automatic Pricing tool, which uses an algorithm to adjust their car’s daily price.
- They can also adjust the price of individual days on their car’s calendar.
If your trip include dates on which the car’s daily rate has been adjusted, we’ll factor those increased or decreased prices into your trip price.
Example: If you book a car that has a standard daily rate of $50 for four days but one of those days had been adjusted to $75, your trip price will be $225.
- A weekly percentage discount will apply to trips that are seven days to one calendar month long.
- A monthly percentage discount will apply to trips that are one calendar month or longer.
We calculate the discount by adding together all of the prices for each day in a week (or calendar month) and applying the percentage discount to the total. When you book a trip, we always charge you the lowest total permitted by the vehicle's listed rates and discounts.
Weekly discounts: If you book a trip for six days, we’ll charge you the daily price of that vehicle six times. If you extend to a seventh day, the weekly percentage discount will apply to the cost of the total trip. If a seven-day trip would be less expensive than a six-day trip based on the host’s daily prices and percentage discounts, we’ll charge you the less expensive option.
Monthly discounts: If you want to add another week onto your two-week trip, we’ll charge you for an additional week. However, if you extend a one-week trip for an additional week four more times, such that you end up having the car for a month, the overall cost of the trip will cap out at the monthly rate.
Extensions: If you extend your trip, you may incur additional costs. This depends on the length of the extension and your host’s pricing. A host may charge different prices for different days or offer weekly or monthly discounts. These are things that may impact the cost of your extension. If there’s any additional cost or if you’re eligible for a discount as a result of your new trip end time, we’ll display it as a separate line item before you submit your extension request.
