If hosts choose a Turo protection plan, they are covered with liability insurance (provided by Intact in Canada, Liberty Mutual in the US, and Allianz in Germany and the UK) during each trip. Please make sure your registration, your personal insurance card, and the relevant Turo incident information card are in the car and accessible to your guest during the trip. If anything happens during a trip, the guest and any third parties should refer to the Turo incident information card; the number for claims reporting is located on the back (where you have not chosen to offer your own rental liability insurance directly to guests).
If you’re a Commercial Host, ensure your commercial rental insurance card is in the vehicle and your guests know where it is located. Claims for these trips should be processed through you own commercial rental insurance provider, not Turo.
The Turo incident information card does not satisfy state or provincial "Financial Responsibility" requirements, and cannot be used to register your car. None of these cards may be used for New York vehicles (vehicles that are registered to or whose home location is New York state). Cars on Turo cannot be shared in New York or delivered to New York State.
State laws vary; in California, Oregon, and Washington, personal car sharing laws demand that your Turo incident information card be included in the vehicle.
Please note that there are different cards — one for our 49 US states (excluding New York), others for the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, an Insurance Certificate for Germany, and incident information card for the UK. Please ensure that you have the correct card for your location. In Canada, you must also print and include the Canada Accident Advice Card. German hosts should also print and include an Accident Form.
