Turo owners are empowered to set their own preferences. Owners can set the miles/kilometres included per day, per week, and per month. While setting a limit won’t necessarily prevent your guest from exceeding the limit, you’ll be compensated for any additional miles/kilometres driven, provided that you present documentation.
If you have particular preferences about where your vehicle can be driven, we encourage you to include this information in your vehicle listing (e.g. you could write, “your trips should be limited to the local area”). You’re also welcome to reaffirm your preferences in the messaging before confirming a trip to ensure your guest understands and agrees to them.
In the event your guest exceeds the included miles/kilometres, notify us within 24 hours of the trip end or use the Reimbursement tool in your dashboard so that you can be properly compensated for the additional distance.
If you are a rental car company who is not utilizing a Turo protection plan and are providing your own rental insurance to travelers, Turo offers very limited assistance; however, you may still file for reimbursements through Turo by using the Reimbursement tool.
