You can sign up for Turo with your Facebook, Google+, or personal email address. We’ll use that email to contact you about your account and your trips. Be sure to use an email that you check all the time. We’ll also ask for your mobile phone number. We must verify both your email address and phone number in order to successfully set up your account.
Once you create an account, you must get approved to use Turo. If you want to be a guest, you must get approved to drive. We’ll confirm that you’re eligible to drive when you book your first trip. If you want to be a host, you must get approved to list a vehicle. We’ll confirm that you’re eligible to host when you create your first listing. You can read more about getting approved here.
When you create an account, you give Turo written instructions and permission in line with the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws to obtain your personal and/or business credit report and/or perform a criminal background check. You also authorize Turo to obtain your auto insurance score from a consumer reporting agency.
