We know traveling can be hectic. Make your life a little easier by booking a car for “airport delivery.”
Vehicles that are available when you search for cars at an airport are provided by hosts who offer their cars for airport pickups and drop offs. Each listing will include the airports the host will deliver to, their delivery fee, and the details of how they will deliver the car.
Hosts who deliver to airports will select from the following delivery options:
- Curbside - the host will meet you at the airport terminal.
- Parking lot - the car can be picked up and returned at an airport parking lot. The host may be present for the key exchange or may leave the keys in a lockbox.
- Valet - only available at select airports, the car will be picked up at a Turo valet lot at the airport. Click here for more information about Turo valet.
- Other arrangements - hosts know their local airports best, and they may have worked out an easier way to coordinate pickups and drop offs. If they select this option, the host will provide all the details once the car is booked.
In some cases, a host may need a ride somewhere in order to meet you at the airport. To make sure you can plan accordingly, a listing will specify whether or not the host will need a ride after delivering their car.
No matter the delivery option, we always recommended communicating with your host beforehand to make sure you’re on the same page about how, where, and when you will meet. At pickup and drop off time, hosts and guests can use Turo’s “Location Sharing” feature in the app to ease the rendezvous by seeing each other’s locations on their smartphones. You may agree to meet at a cell phone lot, the departures curb, nearby public transport, at an airport-designated meeting place, or any place that is appropriate.
Pickup and drop off occur at the same location, unless a change for the return location is requested during the reservation through the Turo website or app and then approved by the host. Once you submit the change request, the host will be notified and has up to eight hours to respond (or less, if your trip starts or ends sooner than eight hours). Locations can only be changed to the places the host already offers delivery.
With location change requests, the pricing may also change if the fee is different than the original location. Changes during an in-progress trip will result in adjustments for 50% of the delivery fee, since only the drop off will change.
The mileage and fuel level should be logged at the time of the trip start/key exchange. These are tracked from the moment the trip starts (when the guest and host meet for the handoff) until the moment the vehicle is returned and the trip ends (when the guest has returned the vehicle to the host). Both hosts and guests should bear this in mind when arranging delivery.
