Distance included in your trip
Each host chooses how many miles or kilometres they want to include for a trip. They can choose a daily, weekly, or monthly limit. We display the mileage limit on each vehicle page under “Distance included” and again when you check out.
Once you’ve booked your trip, we’ll send a confirmation email that shows the mileage included. You can also access the information anytime from the “Trips” tab on your Dashboard. If you’re using the Turo app, we’ll display a reminder of the miles or kilometres included during the check-in process. Be sure to follow the prompts to record the starting and ending mileage via the app to make sure the distance you travel is accurately documented. If you aren’t using the app, take odometer photos and upload them to the Trip Photos section of the trip on the website or mobile web.
Is the mileage I see for the entire trip?
Yes. When you make or request a booking, we’ll list the total distance included for your trip. If you extend or shorten your trip, the mileage amount will adjust to the new total. The total can always be viewed on your trip’s details.
Mileage and trip modifications
Keep in mind that your total allotted distance may change each time you shorten or extend your trip. Depending on the length of time of the trip, though, that mileage limit will be capped by the host's pre-set limits. (For example, a trip that is extended from two weeks to four weeks will have its included distance capped at that vehicle's monthly mileage allotment, as opposed to four weekly allotments added together.) When you extend, the total amount of included miles/kilometres is updated. The amount shown when extending is not an additional amount on top of the previous amount.
Each host sets a fee for any additional distance driven. Fees can range from $0.01 to $3.00 per additional mile/kilometre.* You can see how much the host charges per additional mile/kilometre under “Distance included” in the trip details. Your host may charge you via the Reimbursement tool after the trip has ended, or Turo may charge you after emailing you about the cost. Hosts have up to 72 hours after a trip’s end to request reimbursement for any extra miles or kilometres you traveled.
