Where is Turo available?
You can book a trip with a peer-to-peer host in the United States, the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec, and in the United Kingdom. You can also book a trip with a Commercial Host in these and other regions around the world. Turo isn’t available in all countries. Search for a vehicle in your desired location to see if Turo hosts are in place there.
Where can I drive?
You can drive anywhere within the country where your trip originated. If you book a car in the US or Canada, you may drive across the US-Canadian border, but you may not drive into Mexico. If you book a car in the UK, you may drive in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and in any European Union country. If you plan to cross an international border, message your host once you book the trip to get their OK. Wherever you go, you must follow all local, regional, and national motor vehicle traffic and safety laws.
How do I use filters to find the vehicles I want?
Once you enter your trip location and dates, we’ll display a list of filters at the top of your search results page. If you don’t see the filter you’re looking for, choose “More filters” to see a full list of options. Available filters include those for vehicle type, make, and year, All-Star host vehicles, green vehicles (electric and hybrid), safety features (backup cameras, blindspot warning, child seats, and keyless entry), convenience features (wheelchair accessibility, bluetooth, and USB chargers), pet-friendly vehicles, and more. All cars listed on Turo are non-smoking vehicles as per our No smoking policy.
Why aren’t manual transmission cars showing up in my search?
We default the Transmission setting on your account to “No, I’m not an expert.” That means we won’t show cars with stick shifts in your search results unless you change this setting. If you are an expert at driving a stick shift and want to see vehicles with manual transmissions, go to your Account page and change the Transmission setting to “Yes, I’m an expert.” Do not change this setting or book a manual transmission vehicle if you don’t have the proper expertise. If you do, you’ll be in violation of our Prohibited uses policy, and we may remove you from Turo. We hold guests liable for damage to a car’s clutch, gearbox, or drivetrain.
What should I know about electric vehicles?
Electric vehicles average between 60-200 miles (96-320 kilometres) on a single charge. Ask your host how to charge their car, how long it takes, and how long the charge will last. Then plan where and when you’ll stop to recharge. Use this database to find charging stations for your trip and learn more about your refueling responsibilities. Some hosts offer prepaid recharging as an Extra.
Can I book a Deluxe Class or Super Deluxe Class car?
Deluxe Class cars have a fair market value of $45,000–$85,000 in the US, $55,000 CAD–$85,000 CAD in Canada, and more than £25,000 in the UK. Super Deluxe Class cars have a fair market value of more than $85,000 in the US and $105,000 CAD in Canada. Super Deluxe Class cars aren’t available in the UK.
