Insurance isn’t simple, but let us try to explain it as simply as possible. As long as you’re in compliance with the Terms of Service (including the requirements that the host check that the primary guest appears to have a valid driver's license that matches the name on the reservation, as well as taking pre-trip photos) and protection for the trip is provided via Turo’s insurance partner Allianz, not from a Commercial Host’s own commercial rental insurance*, the following protections apply:
- Host:
- The plan provides €100 million in liability protection provided by our insurance partner Allianz, as well as physical damage coverage.
- Guest and Approved Drivers**:

Please note that you must pay the deductible for every claim that occurs. This means that, in the case of multiple damage issues, you will be required to pay a deductible for each separate claim.
* There is no coverage to you (i.e., you are fully financially responsible) for mechanical or interior damage caused during the trip.
** If you have booked a vehicle with a Commercial Host who has chosen to provide their own commercial rental insurance directly to you, please consult the listings and/or inquire with the host to understand the coverage limits, exclusions, and applicable costs, if any. You may view more information about Commercial Hosts here.
