You should never give your car away outside of the scheduled trip time. If a traveler would like to receive the car earlier than the set start of the trip, and you are able to accommodate an earlier giveaway, you should direct your guest to request a trip modification through the app. You can then accept the request, and give the car away at the new start time. Any modifications to a trip’s scheduled start and end times must be accepted and approved via the system for them to be considered valid.
If a traveler receives your car outside of the trip’s scheduled start time, your insurance, and their insurance, may be voided. If anything were to happen to the car outside of a reservation, neither party would be covered by Turo’s insurance. This is why it’s very important that any modification to a trip be requested and accepted through the Turo system first!
